We're farmers. We're meat distributors. We are local foods. At Grass Run Farm, we offer our region's best 100% grass-fed beef, all-natural confinement-free pork, and a new line of all-natural (local) grain-finished beef -- see Bluff Country.
It's our responsibility to find sustainable markets for these products so that our local food system grows and flourishes, from the farmer to the consumer. We manage an inventory of both wholesale and retails cuts for food co-ops, restaurants, families, and institutions, alike. Founders Ryan & Kristine Jepsen, with Eliza And here's why.
Grass Run Farm is owned and managed by four beef producers who run sustainable family farms. We also market high-quality beef and pork from many neighboring families.
Together we're building an alternative to our mainstream food system, which for decades has favored unhealthy and unsustainable farming practices, and poor food quality. We want to prove that young farmers have options in earning a fulfilling living on the land.
We don't have all the answers, but we'll show you what we're trying. Our goal is to make affordable, pasture-based meats accessible to anyone interested in healthy local food and communities.
Transparency is our trademark.Grass
Run Farm stands for long-term land stewardship, sound family values,
and the far-reaching health benefits of grass-fed and pasture-raised
meats. We're building healthy soils, managing pastures that sequester tons of atmospheric carbon and tending livestock in a humane and respectful manner. We utilize affidavits to trace animals back to the pastures and farms they were raised on. Our animals are never given antibiotics or added growth hormones and are fed a 100% vegetarian diet.
To
achieve sustainability, we must be profitable on all levels:
production, processing, marketing and distribution. This relationship
between producer, marketer and end user must always be honest and
transparent.
To remain agile in a fast-evolving market, we favor
creative and nontraditional business ideas and structures, along with
open-mindedness and clear communication.
By purchasing from us, you support a growing local-foods network and the sustainable family farm.
