Effective January 1, 2011, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires vendors of raw beef muscle meats to make nutritional labeling available to the consumer at the point of sale, either as a poster displayed near the meat case in your grocery store, or on the package label. Previously, such labeling was required only on multi-ingredient meat products such as hot dogs, or products claiming a certain meat-to-fat ratio, such as ground beef.To help businesses like GRF and its wholesale customers comply with this new ruling, the USDA released a generic poster of nutrition information for the major beef primals (view it here). The problem is that many of these cuts are listed by names that are familiar only to meat cutters or meat buyers, not the typical end consumer. As a service to our spectrum of customers, GRF has compiled the nutrition information below, listed by the cuts' more common names. Source of data: USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, 24, 2011In 2012, we will undertake laboratory analysis of our own beef primals to replace this information with verified nutritional analysis of our 100% grass fed beef, both on this site and on our retail product labels. Please select a product below to view or download its nutrition data (PDF format).Beef Arm RoastBeef Arm Steak Boneless Beef Back Ribs Bone-In Beef Bottom Round Steak/Roast Beef Chuck/Shoulder Steak or Pot Roast Beef Chuck/Shoulder Tender Beef Eye of Round Steak/Roast Beef Flank Steak Beef Flat Iron Steak Beef Ground 80% Lean/20% Fat Beef Hanging Tender Steak (Hanger Steak) Beef Inside Skirt Steak Boneless Beef London Broil (Flank) Beef Outside Skirt Steak Boneless Beef Outside Bottom Round Steak (Western Griller) Beef Porterhouse Steak Beef Ranch Steak Beef Rib Steak Bone-In (Cowboy Steak) Beef Ribeye Cap Steak (Lifter Steak) Beef Ribeye Steak (Delmonico Steak) Beef Ribeye Roast Beef Round Tip Roast Beef Sirloin Ball Tip Steak or Roast (same area as Tri-Tip) Beef Sirloin Tip Side Steak Beef Sirloin Tip (Center) Steak Beef Sirloin Tri-Tip Steak or Roast Beef Standing Rib Roast Beef Strip Steak Bone-In (Kansas City Strip) Beef Strip Steak Boneless (New York Strip) Beef T-Bone Steak Beef Teres Major Steak (Chuck Tender) Beef Tenderloin Steak/Roast/Tips (Filet Mignon) Beef Top Blade Steak Beef Top Round Steak/Roast Beef Top Sirloin Cap Steak (Culotte Steak) Beef Top Sirloin Steak Download PDF POSTER containing all of the cuts above (listed by primal) |
