OUR MISSION

Our mission is to make high-quality affordable, pasture-based meats accessible to anyone interested in healthy food and communities.

And here's why.

Grass Run Farm is owned and managed by beef producers who run sustainable family farms. We also market high-quality beef and pork from many families across the Upper Midwest. 

Grass Run Farm stands for long-term land stewardship and the far-reaching health benefits of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats. We're building healthy soils, managing pastures that sequester tons of atmospheric carbon and tending livestock in a humane and respectful manner.

Together we're building an alternative to our mainstream food system, which for decades has favored unhealthy and unsustainable farming practices, and poor food quality. We want to prove that farmers have options in earning a fulfilling living on the land.

We don't have all the answers, but we'll show you what we're trying.

Transparency is our trademark.

We utilize affidavits to trace animals back to the pastures and farms they were raised on. Our animals are never given antibiotics or added growth hormones and are fed a 100% vegetarian diet.

Sustainability is a process involving.....everyone!

To achieve sustainability, a food system must be profitable on all levels: production, processing, marketing and distribution. As cattle producers ourselves, we pay close attention to the honesty and transparency in how food gets from farm to table, a relative novelty in our industry.

And as you've probably noticed, the regional foods system is growing. To keep pace in this ever-evolving market, we favor creative and nontraditional business ideas and structures, along with open-mindedness and clear communication.
